Adjusting to the unhurried tempo of the Lao culture, we take a leisurely stroll through the sleepy capital of Vientiane and begin to understand the meaning of “baw pen nyang.” The former royal capital of Luang Prabang enchants us with its abundance of golden–spired temples and saffron–robed Buddhist monks reciting their hypnotic chants. This spiritual journey would not be complete without witnessing the spectacular sunset over the Mekong River.

Experience Unforgettable Laos
Day 1
Vientiane
Arrive in Vientiane and transfer to hotel. City tour includes visits to Wat Sisaket, That Luang Stupa, Wat Hoprakeo, and the hand–weaving center at Ban Nong Bua Thong.
Day 2-3
Luang Prabang
Morning flight to the former royal capital of Luang Prabang. City tour includes the former King’s palace, Wat Vixoun, Wat Aham, and a climb to the top of Mount Phousi.
Day 4
Luang Prabang
Morning departure by boat for a cruise along the Mekong River to Pak Ou caves which house more than a thousand Buddha statues. Return to Luang Prabang in the late afternoon with stops at villages known for their hand-weaving and rice wine distillation.
Day 5
Vientiane
Return flight to Vientiane. Half–day excursion to Buddha Park with remaining time free to explore the city.
Day 6
Lao Pako Resort
Depart Vientiane by car and transfer to a local boat to the eco-tourism lodge located on the Nam Ngum River.
Day 7
Vientiane
Return to Vientiane. Free time to explore the Central Market, art galleries, and Carol Cassidy’s textile factory.
Day 8
Vientiane
Depart for home or begin your next Asian excursion
