Discover the complexities of preparing Viet Namese food during a home-stay in a traditional house on stilts, exchange smiles and “hellos” as we cycle in tempo with the locals towards the Citadel, and observe the age-old tradition of handmade silk embroidery at a rural community handicraft center.

Day 1-3
Ho Chi Minh City
Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), formerly known as Saigon, and transfer to hotel. For the next two days explore the city including the Reunification Palace, museums, and markets. Full day excursion to the famous Cu Chi tunnels and the great Cao Dai Temple in Tay Ninh; or a boat cruise on the Saigon River to Cu Chi.
Day 4-5
Mekong Delta
A two-day excursion into the lower Mekong Delta introduces the rituals of daily river life; discover local villages and floating markets, participate in a cooking lesson, and spend one night at a traditional house on stilts.
Day 6-7
Da Nang/Hoi An
Fly to Da Nang to begin an exploration of central Viet Nam. Visit the Cham Museum, Marble Mountain, China Beach and the quaint fishing village of Hoi An on the first day. The next day relax on the beach or choose an optional excursion to My Son Ruins and Bang An Cham Towers, My Lai or Hoi An’s neighboring islands.
Day 8-9
Hue
Travel Highway #1 over the scenic Hai Van Pass to the former royal capital of Hue. Enjoy a cylo/bicycle ride first to the Forbidden City located inside the Citadel, a World Heritage Site, then to the Thien Mu Pagoda. Early the next morning enjoy a cruise on the Perfume River to the Royal Tombs of Ming Mang and Tu Duc
Day 10-11
Hanoi
Depart Hue on a flight to Ha Noi, the capital city of Viet Nam. Discover its highlights including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and House, the Ethnology Museum, the ancient district of “36 streets and 36 wares” and the renowned Water Puppets. Enjoy some free time exploring this charming French Colonial City on your own
Day 12-13
Ha Long Bay/ Hanoi
Drive through the scenic countryside to begin our overnight excursion to the mystical Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site for a private sampan sailing boat cruise in the clear emerald waters amidst the 3,000 naturally formed limestone islets.
Day 14
Hanoi
Depart for home or begin your next Asian excursion.
